PROGRAMMING UPDATE

We have many ways for you to stay active in the pool, on the ice and in the community hall … and even outdoors! Full details of all the programs are available here or sign-in to your online account and click on schedule to view the programs or to register.  

FREE Programs – There are a series of FREE programs for you to enjoy throughout the week. Enjoy some indoor walking with our Walk & Talk Program on Mondays and Fridays from 11am-12pm. For Parents with Tots & Seniors enjoy daily skating at the Nick Smith Centre (M/W/F from 1-2pm; Tu/Th from 11:30am-12:30pm) until April 18. 

Lending Hub – Watch for information about our summer equipment availability for the Lending Hub including kayaks, canoe and stand-up paddleboard.  

Adult and Senior Fitness Classes – Spring fitness classes are open for registration and are ready to start following Easter Weekend. Stay active with Functional Fitness, Early Morning Strength and Conditioning, Senior Strength, Lunchtime Strength, Pilates/Yogalates and Self-Defence Training. Daily Programs – The always popular Pickleball program continues in the Community Hall for the month of April before sliding over to the arena slab for May and June. Registration for the next session of Pickleball will open April 11 at 9:30am. Did you know you can play Badminton at the Nick Smith Centre? Well every Monday night we have the nets set up and ready for you to come try your hand. Drop-in programs require pre-registration at www.arnprior.ca/registration

Women’s Ball Hockey – Returning this spring is the Women’s Ball Hockey League with games once a week on Monday nights. Register as an individual and be placed on a team in this fun and inclusive environment.

Youth Programs – Get Active After School with Meagan Mask on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Nick Smith Centre. This multi-sport program focuses on building strong mental, social and physical health in a safe environment. The Rally Cap program returns to McLean Diamonds this spring where kids aged 5-8 will engage in the basics of baseball in a format that provide more hands on and engagement than typical baseball. Youth Ball Hockey is also making a comeback in a drop-in style. Keep your eye out for information on Tuesday night programming on the arena slab.

Red Cross Babysitting Course – We’ve partnered with Safety Tree Canada to present the Red Cross Babysitting course on Saturday May 14 at the Nick Smith Centre. This full day course is designed to teach children how to create and manage a babysitting business, gain the skills to supervise younger siblings or other children in a safe and responsible manner, and learn basic first aid skills

Easter Bunny’s DJ Skate Party – Kick off the Easter weekend with us at the Nick Smith Centre at our DJ Skate Party with a special visit by the Easter Bunny. Purchase your tickets at the Nick Smith Centre and come out on April 14 between 6-9pm to enjoy some lights and music while you skate around the rink.

Laser Tag Challenge – Rally your friends and family and prepare for battle in our Laser Tag Challenge on April 23. We will have the arena slab set up for ages 6+ with time slots allotted for kids, families and adults. Register now at www.arnprior.ca/registration

Escape Rooms – Race the clock to escape the room in time with your friends at the Nick Smith Centre. Book a 1-hour slot in an easy or hard room on May 28. Book your slot at www.arnprior.ca/registration today!

Summer Camps – stay tuned for more information regarding PA Day Camp, Camp Wanago, Next Gen Hockey and Ringette Camp later in April.

AQUATICS UPDATE

Free Swims – Saturday, April 9 at 12pm, 2pm, and 3pm for up to 90 participants per swim, sponsored by the Arnprior Optimist Club as part of the Optimist Spring Carnival. 

Public Holidays – All public holidays now have a set swim schedule which begins Easter Monday, April 18th.

9-10am Lane Swim

11-12pm Parent & Tot Swim

12-1pm Lane Swim

Pool Rentals – Pool rentals are back! Whatever it is that you are celebrating, you and your partygoers will have a splash! Starting at just $140, you and 28 of your closest friends can have the entire pool to yourself for a 50-minute swim! Contact us to book your party now.

Pool Schedule Update – Our spring pool schedule starts Monday, April 4, 2022. We will go back to our normal 1-hour (end 5 minutes prior to the hour) swims instead of 45 minutes! Parent and Tot Swim and Family Swim are now referred to as Parent and Tot Swim, while Leisure Swim and Public Swim are now referred to as Public Swim. These name changes will ensure more continuity and inclusivity.

Drop In Swim Costs – Effective Monday, April 4, our drop in swim costs will increase by 0.25 cents.

Swim Registration – In order to attend a swim or program please ensure you have an online account and register online with a credit card. This will ensure you save time, guarantee your spot, and will receive a notification if your swim or program is cancelled due to pool emergencies. We do not reserve spots in advance without payment.

Refunds – Programs: Under special circumstances, partial refunds may be granted, provided the refund is requested prior to the third class. Administration charges will be deducted from the refund. Rentals: The user will be charged for any rental cancellations within two weeks or less of their scheduled use. Swims: The user will be charged for any swim cancellations within 24hrs or less of their scheduled use.

SKATE PARK UPDATE

We some favourable weather of recent, the Skate Park at the Nick Smith Centre is now open for the season. Please follow all posted signage. All users are encourage to wear helmets and other appropriate protective equipment.

PACKERS AND RIVERMEN UPDATE

The Arnprior Packers are on the road tonight (April 1) in Perth for the decisive Game 5. Follow them on their Facebook page for updates on future games. The West Carleton Rivermen ended their season last Saturday. We look forward to their return next season.

ICE RENTALS

Interested in some extra ice time throughout March and April? You can view our ice availability online, anytime. Bert Hall Arena (Arena A) will have ice in until April 18, while the Glenn Arthur Arena (Arena B) will have ice in until April 9. We have some great deals on ice: $85/hour for ice before 8:30am; 30% discount on ice rented within 72 hours; 50% discount on ice rented after 11pm.
